BANGALORE: Rains truncated the proceedings in the Mahila Seva Samaj conducted AITA Talent series National-ranking tennis tournament at the MSS courts here on Wednesday.

In the three quarterfinal matches gone through in the girls’ under-14 singles, Preethi Gokhale blanked Nupur Roy Choudhary 6-0, 6-0 to make the semifinals.

In the other last eight matches, Spoorthi Shivalinghaiah ousted Pooja R Patil 6-1, 6-2 while top seed Dhruthi Venugopal accounted for Surya Suresh 6-3, 6-3.

The results:

Boys: Pre-quarterfinals: Under-14: S. Raghavendra bt Arman Banerji 6-2, 6-1; Rohith Dinaker bt Harsh Manjunath 7-6(4), 6-3; thwin 6-2, 6-0.

Girls: Under-14: Dhruthi bt Lakshmi Nikitha 6-0, 6-0; Surya Suresh bt B.R. Vaishnavi 6-3, 0-6, 6-3; Spurthi Shivalinghaia bt Soumya Gupta 6-1, 6-0; Pooja R Patil bt C.M. Tarini 6-4, 4-6, 6-2; Nupur RC bt Annina Simon 6-2, 6-3; Prethi Gokhale bt Jesal Sheth 6-0, 6-0; Shruthi Prasanth bt Sanchita Chandra 6-0, 6-0.
