BERHAMPUR: Intra-party tussle brews in the Gajapati district unit of the BJD, which may affect the participation of BJD cadres from this district in the ‘Mahasamavesh’ of the party to be held in Bhubaneswar on December 26. Leaders of the district unit of the party including its president, Basant Das, working president, K.Narayan Rao passed a resolution against a leader of the party, V.S.N.Raju at a party meeting held at Paralakhemundi on Tuesday. They sent a message to the BJD chief, Naveen Patnaik to suspend Mr. Raju from the party for his anti-party activities. They also urge the BJD chief, who also happens to be the Chief Minister to remove Mr. Raju from the post of special public prosecutor. Mr. Raju was the election officer for party organisational elections in Gajapati district. The BJD activists opposed that he was trying to weaken the party organisation in the district. According to C.H.Simadri, a zilla parishad member, the panchayat level leaders of the BJD had started to threaten not to take part in any party activity including the December 26 Bhubaneswar summit, if Mr. Raju was not removed from the party.
