Statement criticised

Thiruvananthapuram: Historian K.N. Panikkar has termed dangerous the view of Bishop Powathil that Christians should educate their children in religious institutions, a press note issued here said. Dr. Panikkar was inaugurating a cultural seminar organised in connection with the Thiruvananthapuram district conference of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) at Mettukkada. Religions are using education to gain a grip on power, he said.
