Raji Reddy was involved in several cases

Maoist central committee member carries a reward of Rs. 12 lakh

HYDERABAD: The Maoist central committee member Malla Raji Reddy, arrested by State police in Kerala is involved in several sensational naxalite violence cases in the State including the killing of former speaker G. Sripada Rao in Karimnagar, IPS officer Umesh Chandra in Hyderabad in addition to the Bangalore gun running case, police said on Tuesday.

Raji Reddy, who studied up to Intermediate in Manthani had joined the Radical Students Union (RSU) in 1975 and had been leading an underground life since then and had assumed the name of Sathenna and Meesalanna in his party circles. His wife, Beecha Suguna also known as Sangita hails from Mendri village of Bijapur district in Chattisgarh. She is also wanted in killing of Sripada Rao.

The naxalite leader is being brought to Andhra Pradesh on a transit remand from Ernakulam of Kerala and would be produced before the court in Manthani, possibly on December 21.

He carries reward of Rs. 12 lakh and was earlier arrested in Dharmapuri police station of Karimnagar in April 1977.
