No decision yet on replies of Modi, Sonia

New Delhi: The Election Commission is yet to take a decision on the replies sent by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Congress president Sonia Gandhi in response to the show-cause notices sent to them for alleged violation of the model code. The full Commission on Wednesday discussed the issue and “the process of decision is still on,” Deputy Election Commissioner R. Balakrishnan told reporters here.
While Mr. Modi was issued notice for his alleged remarks against Sohrabuddin Sheikh, who was killed in a fake encounter in 2005, the notice was slapped on Ms. Gandhi for her “merchants of death” remarks.
