Boy gets bail

CHENNAI: The Juvenile Justice Court here granted bail to a 16-year-old boy, who was wanted in connection with a road accident that occurred on December 14, which claimed three lives. However, the Magistrate, Geetharani, directed that the boy remain in Chennai and cooperate with the investigation into the accident involving a Mercedes Benz car.

The vehicle, after hitting a motorcyclist on the New Avadi Road, ran over two workers sleeping on the pavement. The vehicle is registered in the name of Shivani Devi, wife of Tirupathi Khemka, who belongs to a business family, the police said.
