Vidit, Gahan stay ahead

NEW DELHI: Top seed Vidit Gujarati and lesser-known M.G. Gahan posted victories to lead with 6.5 points each after the seventh round of the Parsvnath 21st National boys (under-13) chess here on Wednesday.

The results (seventh round): Vidit Gujarati (6.5) bt Prasanna Rao (5.5); Anurag Mhamal (5) lost to M. G. Gahan (6.5); Ankit Rajapara (6) bt Antonio Viani D’cunha (5); Girish Koushik ( 5.5) drew with Prince Bajaj (5.5); Nihal Manjunath (5) lost to P. Lokesh (6); Sayantan Das (6) bt Deepthamesh Reddy (5); Hari Hara Sudhan (5) lost to Vishwanath Prasad (6); N. Srinath (5) drew with Vaibhav Suri (5); Fenil Shah (5) drew with Shaik Abdul Azeez (5); Pranav Shetty ( 5.5) bt S. S. Manigandan (4.5).
