Excise enforcement to be strengthened

Thiruvananthapuram: The Excise Department on Wednesday said it has strengthened enforcement to prevent the sale of fake and illicit liquor during the Christmas and New Year season. In a release here, K.N. Mohanlal, Assistant Excise Commissioner, said 24-hour control rooms had started functioning in Thiruvananthapuram (0471 2472747), Neyyattinkara (0471 2222380), Nedumangad (0472 2802227) and Attingal (0470 2622386) taluks. The department has also started a district control room (0471 2473149, 9447 178053) under the direct supervision of Mr. Mohanlal. — Staff Reporter
