Cherai tourism mela begins tomorrow

KOCHI: The Cherai tourism mela will be held from December 22 to 31.

Social critic Sukumar Azhikode will inaugurate the mela on Saturday. Various entertainment programmes will be organised on all the days. A show of elephants will be among the programmes.

A seminar on tourism will be held on December 30. Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan will inaugurate the seminar.

The concluding session on December 31 will be inaugurated by Fisheries Minister S. Sarma.

The details were disclosed at a press meet here on Thursday.

P.B. Sajeevan, president of Pallipuram panchayat, K.R. Subhash, general convener of tourism mela, were among those who spoke on the occasion.
