Tuni (East Godavari): The former Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has alleged that the State Government’s ‘Bhoo Bharati’ programme will create border disputes between farmers and may even lead to law and order problems in the State. The government has allocated Rs. 1,500 crores for the scheme, which “will benefit contractors and not the poor.” Addressing newsmen here on Thursday after visiting Muta and Bhoomi channels, which were damaged due to alleged negligence of engineering and irrigation departments, Mr. Naidu said that when TDP MLA Chengala Venkatrao raised the issue of these channels and corruption in thee schemes, false cases were foisted against him and sent to jail. He said that the TDP was ready to face any consequence and expose what he called the corrupt activities of the government in Jalayagnam in which Muta and Bhoomi channels were also included. SEZ issueSpeaking on the SEZ issue, he said that no agriculture land should be used for the purpose and that the companies which were investing had to directly negotiate with farmers. Later, at a review meeting held with district leaders at the ZP guesthouse, he said that 40 per cent of seats would be given to youth in the coming elections. Tuni MLA Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, party State general secretary Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, district president Jyothula Nehru, MLC Nimmakayala Chinnarajappa, MLA Babu Ramesh, former ministers, former MLAs and others participated in the meeting.
