Bitta gets threat call on phone
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: The All-India Anti-Terrorist Front chairman, Maninderjeet Singh Bitta, has allegedly received a threatening call for campaigning against the Parliament attack case convict Afzal Guru. Mr. Bitta has been demanding that Afzal be hanged.
Mr. Bitta’s secretary Sourabh Behl, who claimed to have received the call, said: “Mr. Bitta is out of town since December 16. He had forgotten to take his mobile phone with him. I received an anonymous call on Mr. Bitta’s phone from Saudi Arabia at 2-47 a.m. The caller threatened to kill Mr. Bitta if he did not stop his campaign against Afzal Guru. He said that Mr. Bitta had escaped earlier attempts on his life, but he would not be so lucky this time. Later in the day, I received several missed calls from the same number.”
Mr. Behl has lodged a complaint with the police station in this regard.
