Approval sought

PUDUCHERRY: Chief Minister N. Rangasamy on Monday sought approval for the Union Territory’s proposal to start three coastal police stations at Puducherry, Mahe and Yanam.

Speaking at the Chief Minister’s Conference on Internal Security in New Delhi, Mr. Rangasamy said the Union government should take immediate steps to sanction the project as it was difficult to maintain surveillance “over the widely scattered” coastline.
