Nawada: A local court has sentenced a member of the proscribed CPI(Maoist) to life imprisonment in connection with a kidnapping in Bihar’s Nawada town three and half years ago. A fast-track court led by additional district and sessions judge V S Pathak found Dilip Ram guilty of kidnapping businessman Ajit Kumar from Gadapar locality under town police station here on April 14, 2004 and awarded the life term to him. The businessman is still traceless and his family has paid a ransom of Rs.1.20 lakh against Rs.5 lakh sought by his kidnappers.
