UNPA farmers’ rallies in 5 places
Staff Reporter
Tuni (East Godavari): TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday announced that United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) is going to organise ‘Rythu Garjana’ (farmer’s rallies) in five places in the country.
Addressing a press conference here, he said that the first meeting will be held at Jaipur on January 20, second meeting will be in Mumbai on February 3, in Ranchi on February 6 and other two rallies in Utter Pradesh. He said that these meetings are being organised to pressurise the Union government to implement M.S. Swaminathan Committee recommendations on the agriculture sector in total.
Mr. Naidu said that the Union government has allotted only 18 per cent to agriculture, on which 60 percent of the population is dependent.
