Father challenges son’s expulsion
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has issued notices to the Rohini branch of Delhi Public School, the Delhi Public School Society and the Delhi Government’s Directorate of Education on a petition by the father of a preparatory class child challenging the school action in striking off his name from the rolls. Justice Ravindra Bhatt directed the respondents to file their replies by January 7.
In the petition filed through advocate Ashok Aggarwal, the father of the child submitted that the school had refused to sanction long leave to his son and later struck his name off the rolls without even issuing a show-cause notice. He submitted that he had sought leave for his son as some dispute had arisen between him and his wife.
The school had initially sanctioned leave to the child, but later struck his name off the rolls, the petitioner said.
He submitted that the dispute between him and his wife had been satisfactorily settled now and they were living together happily. The child had just become a victim of the dispute between his parents and the school’s arbitrariness, the petition submitted.
