Manhunt launched for temple thief

Staff Correspondent

DEHRA DUN: The police have launched a massive hunt for a young man who allegedly mixed poison in the food in the kitchen of Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple and decamped with valuables worth about Rs.50,000 after the temple priest and four others fell unconscious after dinner.

The matter came to light when devotees found the Mahant and others lying unconscious in the morning. They were rushed to Doon Hospital.

“Young sadhu”

The Mahant is said to have told the police that they had given shelter to a young “sadhu” who might have poisoned them and escaped with the valuables.
