Raje seeks early decision on refinery
Special Correspondent
Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje
JAIPUR: Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has requested Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to take an early decision on establishment of an oil refinery in Barmer district, where huge quantities of oil and gas were discovered recently.
Meets PM
Ms. Raje, who met Dr. Singh along with four other Chief Ministers in New Delhi on Wednesday, said the people in the State were eagerly looking forward to installation of the refinery with the expectation that it would boost the region’s development.
Raje joined the Chief Ministers of mineral-rich States in opposing a proposal for giving permission for import of marble to select licence holders under the new mineral policy of 2007.
The Rajasthan Chief Minister said the proposed move would hit marble production in the State.
