Undertrial hurt in Beur jail

PATNA: Undertrial prisoner Mukesh Kumar suffered nose injuries when he slipped and fell off the stairs inside the Beur Central Jail here on Thursday, officials said.

They denied he had tried to commit suicide by jumping from the roof, and claimed he slipped while exercising. The prisoner, admitted to the Patna Medical College Hospital was said to be out of danger. The police are investigating.
