Medical reps for sales promotion as industry

Demand statutory working rules for the sales promotion employees
MAHABUBNAGAR: Demanding to solve their long pending problems, members of Andhra Pradesh Medical and Sales Representatives Union, Mahabubnagar unit, led by C. Pulla Reddy, K. Srinivas Rao president and secretary respectively, organised a protest rally here on Thursday.
The protesters submitted a memorandum to the Union Minister of Labour, Oscar Fernandez through, Assistant Commissioner of labour, Mahabubnagar, in which among others they demanded “enforcement of section 2(J) defining – sales promotion as Industry as per Industrial Disputes (Amendment) Act 1982 and to make statutory working rules for the sales promotion employees under the provisions of Sales Promotion Employees (Conditions of Services) Act 1976.”
The Union Secretary, K. Srinivas Rao said that their national federation has already submitted a memorandum to the Union Labour ministry on September 17 after organising a huge rally at Delhi.
But so far no action was taken and the demands remained unsolved they urged the Union Labour Minister to solve their problems immediately to protect sales promotion employees from exploitation.
