Taking to the streets
Students, protests on petty issues and preventive arrests are not uncommon. The other day, Narayana Junior College Tarnaka branch Principal Chandrashekhara Reddy and zonal officer Chandrashekhar hit the headlines albeit for the wrong reasons. They were charged with neglecting requests for urgent medical attention leading to a girl student’s death in college. Accusing them of negligence, the students took to the streets and were taken into preventive custody. But they ensured that the accused were put behind bars though the latter got released on bail.
