Bioinformatics workshop

CHENNAI: A national workshop on the application of bioinformatics in drug discovery and development is on at the Presidency College.

Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Vice-Chancellor P. Thangaraju inaugurated the workshop on Wednesday. He called for more research on drugs to tackle diseases affecting domestic animals and birds.

Presidency College Principal S. Ramanathan released the workshop manual. S. Rajarajan, coordinator, National Bioinformatics Facility Centre at Presidency College, said a website featuring a database on drugs of microbial origin would be available from January.
