BANGALORE: Work came to a halt for nearly two hours at the city civil court complex on Old Post Office Road, off Cauvery Bhavan, on Thursday following a bomb hoax. Around 10.30 a.m. as the news spread that a bomb had been planted in the court complex, hundreds of advocates and the public ran out of the building housing several sessions and district courts. According to the police, around 10.15 a.m., a person telephoned the Police Commissioner’s office on Bhagwan Mahaveer Road. When an official from the Commissioner’s personal section received the call, the anonymous caller informed that a bomb had been planted at the City Civil Court complex. On being alerted, the Ulsoor Gate police, along with the staff from the Bomb Detection Squad and dog squad, combed the complex for two hours. No explosives were found. The call was traced to a coin booth in the basement of the court complex, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) B.N.S. Reddy told The Hindu.
