Burglary in flat crime notes

BANGALORE: Burglars struck at an apartment in Vidyaranyapura police station limits on Wednesday and looted gold ornaments estimated at Rs. 1 lakh.

The police said the incident took place at Bharatesh Kumar’s flat in Lake View apartments.

The Vidyaranyapura police have registered a case.

Opium seized

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) staff have arrested a man from Rajasthan and seized from him two kg of opium estimated at Rs. 2.5 lakh in international market.

The police gave the name of the arrested as Multanram Baishnovi (42), a carpenter from Jodhpur district. He was arrested while he was trying to sell opium at BEML Layout in Rajarajeshwarinagar on Tuesday, the police said.

The accused had been into drug peddling since 1992 and had been supplying narcotic substances to carpenters and granite and marble tile fixers from Rajasthan and Bihar who were working in Bangalore, the police said.

Arrested

The Kalasipalya police have arrested a 23-year-old man on charge of selling fake pain balm in the name of a reputed brand and seized from him fake balm containers estimated at Rs. 1 lakh.

The arrested was identified as Shambu Singh alias Raju, a native of Rajasthan. He was selling the fake pain balm on Kalasipalya Main Road, the police said.
