Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Thursday termed as vital the role played by school children in greening Delhi and urged them to also take care of the trees to improve their survival rate. At the inaugural function of the Annual Eco Meet at National Bal Bhawan, she also released the Environment Report for Delhi and the new environmental calendar.
She said the green area in Delhi had grown from 32 square km to 320 sq km during the past nine years. Stating that Delhi now also boasts the largest fleet of CNG buses, she exhorted the people to concentrate more on conservation of natural resources.
