Collector visits flood-hit areas in Perambalur

PERAMBALUR: Collector Anil Meshram on Thursday visited the flood-hit areas in the district and directed officials to take steps for pumping out the stagnated water through drainage channels.
He inspected the bridges across the jungle streams at Agaramseekoor and Pallakalingarayanallur and directed the village administrative officers and panchayat presidents not to allow the elderly and children to use the bridges.
He inspected the Pennakonam government school, which was inundated, and damaged crops in Athiyur.
District Revenue Officer P. Sankar, Veppur panchayat union chairman A. Neelamegam and other officials accompanied the Collector.
