Bomb threat to High Court, Parliament
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: Nearly a month after blasts rocked courts in different cities of Uttar Pradesh, the Delhi High Court received an e-mail threatening to target some judges, blow up Parliament and the Taj Mahal.
The e-mail, purportedly sent by a terrorist outfit, was received by the High Court Registrar a few weeks ago. The matter was immediately brought to the notice of the Union Government and the e-mail forwarded to the Home Ministry.
The Registrar is learnt to have met with senior police officers to review the security arrangements. Subsequently, stringent security measures were put in place, including the setting up of barricades and the frisking of visitors.
Efforts are on to ascertain the authenticity of the e-mail and to trace its sender.
