ANY TIME PAYMENT: People paying electricity bills at an ATP centre in Mysore. MYSORE: For the much-harried power consumers standing in lengthy queues for remitting bills is now a thing of the past. For, Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) has installed automated Any Time Payment (ATP) kiosks at the CESC office in Kuvempunagar and Ontikoppal. All one need to do is punch in the RR number of the electricity bill and put it to scan which is done in a split second and details pertaining to the bill are flashed on the screen. Next, insert the amount to be paid at the currency slot and an automatically generated receipt as proof of payment is instantly printed. The process is something akin to withdrawing cash from ATM centres, but the only difference here is only cash can be remitted. What is more, the machine has another slot to insert cheques payable to the authorities, while it can also detect fake currency notes.
