Special Correspondent

TIRUVANNAMALAI: A total of 165 employees belonging to the Departments of Revenue and Cooperation would be appointed to carry out the task of detecting bogus family cards in Tiruvannamalai district, according to Collector Satyabrata Sahoo.

Presiding over a meeting organised to impart training to the officials of the Revenue and Cooperation Departments in detecting bogus family cards at the Collectorate here on Thursday, Mr. Sahoo said that the exercise, which was currently being carried on at fair price shops in the municipal areas, would be extended to 660 more fair price shops in the district.

He said that this was part of the State-wide exercise of detecting bogus family cards being undertaken on the instructions of Food Minister E.V. Velu.

He urged the officials to intensify their efforts in detecting the fake cards.
