Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH: Women in Haryana play a significant role in dairy farming and their capacity-building is essential to improve the dairy scenario, according to Dr. S. L.Goswami, Joint Director (Research) of the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) at Karnal.

He was addressing a group of 40 women participants from different villages of Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat and Rohtak districts who were imparted integrated training for four days on dairy production and processing at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) of NDRI.

He said the stake holders in various development programmes should act vigorously so that the desired results are attained efficiently in a stipulated time frame. The learnt dairy processing technologies would certainly help these rural women in making quality dairy products, he added.
