Chitradurga: Hundreds of Muslims thronged mosques to offer prayers on the occasion of Id-ul-Adha here on Friday.
The festival commemorates Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail for Allah. The festival is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhul Hijja, which is the 12th month of the Islamic calendar.
Pilgrimage
The festival falls 70 days after the month of Ramzan and is celebrated after the Haj, the annual pilgrimage to Makkah in Saudi Arabia.
