MCD doctor wins award

NEW DELHI: The Chief Medical Officer of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Dr. Ashok Kumar, has been selected for the Vivekananda National Award for Excellence in Human Resource Development and Training by the Indian Society of Training and Development.
Achievements
Dr. Kumar has been working as a training programme officer in the civic body’s India Population Project-VIII. He has conducted over 800 training programmes in the field of maternal and child health, adolescent health and training technology for doctors, nurses, health workers and community health volunteers.
Health training
He has also been associated with various training activities at the State and national level.
Dr. Kumar is also known for introducing innovative and participatory practices in health training and is a recipient of the Dr. A. K. N. Sinha National Award for distinguished services to the medical profession conferred by the Indian Medical Association in 2004.
