Girl sustains burns in freak fire

NEW DELHI: A 23-year-old post-graduate girl student of Delhi University sustained serious burns in a freak mishap at Maurice Nagar on the campus on Friday.

Urmi Mohan, a Masters of Social Work student, was sweeping the floor of her hostel room when her clothes caught fire after coming into contact with a room heater. Urmi suffered 72 per cent burns and was admitted to J. P. Hospital. Police have informed her parents in Patna. In a statement to the police, she denied any foul play.
