Aid extended to unemployed youth

CHODAVARAM (Visakhapatnam district): Former Chief Minister and TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday disbursed unemployment allowance of Rs.200 each to graduates in Chodavaram Assembly segment.

The scheme was introduced by the local MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao in memory of his father, Ganta China Roasaiah Memorial Trust. Only graduate unemployed youth below 35 years belonging to the poor classes are eligible for the allowance. An additional Rs.100 was being given to physically handicapped persons under the scheme.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Naidu said youth formed the backbone of society. He appreciated the initiative of Mr. Srinivasa Rao and hoped others would emulate his example. The TDP president also gave away Best Journalist awards instituted by the Trust. Gantla Sreenu Babu, P.V. Satyanarayana Rao (both Andhra Jyothi) and P. Srinivasa Rao (Eenadu) won the first, second and third prizes respectively.
