CHENNAI: Sangeetha Mobiles, a leading retailer of mobile phones with is base in Karnataka, is entering the Tamil Nadu market in a big way by opening a chain of showrooms. To start with it has inaugurated nine showrooms in various parts of Chennai on Friday and one more will be opened shortly. Addressing presspersons Subhash Chandra, Managing Partner of the company said the company had 17 showrooms in Bangalore, seven in Hyderabad, two each in Visakhapatnam and Mysore and one in Mangalore. By March next year the company was planning to have 20 outlets in Chennai, Mr. Subhash Chandra said. All the showrooms were company owned and for future expansion it might think of a franchise model, Mr. Subhash Chandra said. The company has also plans to open showrooms in Kerala later and the aim was to become a dominant player in the South, he said. The required resources for expansion plans and brand promotion would be raised from venture funds and the plan was to mobilise Rs. 100 crore in the first instalment, he said.
