Christmas spirit prevails
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: Rain failed to dampen the Christmas spirit at the Palace Grounds in the city.
Live Jam, in association with the churches of Bangalore, organised Gloria Deo on Thursday.
Delay
Despite the poor weather and delayed start, there was a fair turnout, setting the mood for the festive season.
The show started with a prayer, followed by performances by the choirs of Ryan International School and Bethany High School (whose number ‘Yo sista’ seemed highly inspired by Sister Act).
Traditional carols
Both the choirs stuck to well-known traditional carols such as “Come all ye faithful”, “‘Joyful Joyful”, “Gloria” and “Aint no mountain high enough”.
Anil and Reena Kant took the stage next and got the crowd on their feet with “Bhangra Gospel”.
Others who took the stage were Suresh Peters, Benny Prasad and a choreography team from Brazil.
Responsive
The audience was responsive to the performances, unmindful of the gloomy weather.
A particularly excited young man whooped: “It’s Christmas! Not even a typhoon can get our spirits down.”
