State Level Bankers’ Committee meeting on Monday

Meet will evaluate the performance of banks in the State

Total Financial Inclusion Campaign will be assessed


Thiruvananthapuram: A meeting of the State Level Bankers’ Committee to review the performance of the banking sector and credit deployment in the State will be held here on December 24.

It will be attended by Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan, and Union Minister of State for Finance (EB&I) Pawan Kumar Bansal.

M.B.N. Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of Canara Bank, who is also the Chairman of Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) will be present.

The Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of the government of Kerala, top executives of Reserve Bank of India, NABARD, Scheduled Commercial Banks and top officials of developmental agencies in the State will participate in the meeting.

The meeting will also evaluate the performance of banks in the State vis-À-vis targets allocated to them under various government-sponsored schemes.

The progress of the Total Financial Inclusion Campaign in the State will also be reviewed.
