Man tries to kidnap girl, caught

HYDERABAD: Alert locals caught a man Abdul Raheem, 35, when he allegedly tried to abduct an 11-year-old girl during daytime on Friday at Elchiguda near Lower Tank Bund.

Daughter of a local pan shop owner, Akshita was walking on the road when Raheem came from behind, caught her by her hand and tried to drag her to a corner.

Residents of the locality came to her rescue as she shouted for help and handed over Raheem to the Gandhinagar police after giving him a thorough thrashing. The accused hails from Barkas in the old city.
