Upplam Ground buzzing with scientific talents

PUDUCHERRY: Want to interact with young science talent? Come to the Upplam Sports Ground on any of the six days starting from Saturday.

Here is a chance for the people of Puducherry, especially students with scientific temper, to observe the scientific inventions of school students from 31 States and Union Territories.

On display at the 34th Jawaharlal Nehru National Science Exhibition for Children are the scientific models prepared by the local students.

You can meet Shamika Vikas Surve and Sanjeev Ramakrishna Shinde from Ratnagiri district of Maharastra and get to know more about their multipurpose mobile, which can be used by farmhands to manage agriculture activity without being physically present in the farm. Then there is Mohammed Lakaria, a student of Gopalganj of Madhya Pradesh, with his brilliant model of cattle-run electricity.

He has used simple materials such as an old cycle frame, chain paddle, cycle dynamo, few nails and four oxen to generate power for 40 houses for a period of four hours.
