MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh remained unfazed by Revenue Minister’s Narayan Rane’s outburst in New Delhi against his leadership. Mr. Deshmukh told reporters on Friday evening that in a democracy these things were likely to happen and it was nothing new. He said he would continue to remain Chief Minister and Maharashtra was not likely to see a change in leadership. He had an open mind and the doors were open for discussion. If any member of the Cabinet had problems they could always talk to him about it. Warns high commandPTI reports: Earlier in New Delhi, Mr. Rane warned the party high command that there would be problems in the next elections if governance continued in the “same fashion” in Maharashtra. He did not name Mr. Deshmukh but made it obvious that he was his target. Addressing a press conference after meeting Margaret Alva, AICC general secretary in-charge of Maharashtra, Mr. Rane said the government was working for only “one person.”
