Chhattisgarh police launch operation to lift bodies

KHAMMAM: The Chhattisgarh police launched a massive operation on Friday to lift the bodies of the policemen who were kidnapped and killed by Maoists in Kistaram forests of Danntewada district.
The police had information that a place near Darlaguda village was littered with bodies of some men in uniform. It was presumed that the 12 policemen, missing since Thursday, were killed by the Maoists.
A large posse of policemen and CRPF personnel accompanied by some 300 Salva Judum activists reached Maraigudem police station on the Chhattisgarh-AP border around 2 p.m. . According to reports, in all 26 policemen from Kistaram police station took part in the anti-Maoist operation on Thursday.
