Plan gaining acceptance
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: A policy that was meant to make farmers partners in development, the KIADB’s proposal to offer 8,500 sq ft of developed land for every acre acquired is slowly being accepted by the farmers who are losing their lands for infrastructure projects.
KIADB sources said that though it was too early to say if the proposal had succeeded or not, it was definitely picking up. The sources also acknowledged that this policy was likely to reduce opposition from farmers for the projects.
