Christmas treat for kids

NEW DELHI: Animation lovers are in for a grand treat this Christmas. Cartoon Network and Pogo have an exciting line-up of programmes to keep couch potatoes hooked on to their television sets. Cartoon Network presents “A Very Jerry Xmas”, a week-long fun extravaganza featuring the classic pair Tom and Jerry.

Celebrating Christmas in true festival spirit, Pogo will air the national premiere of the animated TV special “Shrek: The Halls” on December 25. There is a lot in store for tiny tots as well. Kids can watch Christmas special episodes of their favourite characters “Noddy” in “Baby Looney Tunes”, “Foster’s Imaginary Friends” and “Mr. Bean” on Pogo.

Speaking about the special programming line-up, Monica Tata of Turner International India, says children across the country will enjoy the blockbuster movie “Shrek: The Halls” and other programmes as part of Cartoon Network and Pogo’s Christmas treat.

Everyday on Cartoon Network, from December 23 to 30, viewers can enjoy some of the best action movies of Tom and Jerry including “Blast off to Mars” (December 23), “Tom & Jerry The Movie” (December 28), “The Fast and Furry” (December 30).

On Pogo viewers can catch the famous ogre in “Shrek: The Halls”. It is Christmas Eve and everyone is filled with holiday cheer except for Shrek. But for the sake of Fiona and the kids, he tries to get into the festive mood. Shrek’s plan for Christmas was to sit back, relax and enjoy the occasion with his family. However, everyone else around him seems to have very different ideas and plans in mind.

While Donkey, Puss in Boots, Gingerbread Man and the whole gang join in for some fun, Shrek’s plans of a quiet family celebration end up spiralling into one truly unforgettable Christmas.

Pogo’s special Christmas programming will also offer kids a chance to meet their favourite character ‘Noddy’ in the special episode of “Noddy Saves Christmas” on December 25.

Other programmes on the same channel the same day include “Out Back Christmas” from the Koala Brothers, “Baby Looney Tunes — Christmas In July”, “A Very Woody Christmas” and “Merry Christmas”.
