Thiruvananthapuram: The Railways will run special trains on the Nizamuddin-Kochuveli-Nizamuddin, Kochuveli-Bangalore, Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai Central and Chennai Egmore-Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai Egmore sections to clear the heavy rush this month. The 0444 Nizamuddin-Kochuveli Weekly Special will leave Nizamuddin at 2 p.m. on December 21 and 28 to arrive at Kochuveli at 3.30 p.m. on the third day (Sunday), a Southern Railway release here said. In the return direction, the 0443 Kochuveli-Nizamuddin Special will leave Kochuveli at 8.45 a.m. on December 24 and 31 to arrive at Nizamuddin at 11 a.m the third day. The train will have stops at Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam Junction, Thrissur, Shornur, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kankanadi, Udupi, Kumta, Karwal, Madgaon, Karvali, Sanwantwadi, Ratnagiri, Panvel, Vadodara and Kota. The train will have one AC 2-Tier, 2 AC 3-Tier, 13 Sleeper Class and 2 Luggage-cum-brake van coaches. Kochuveli-BangaloreThe 0622 Kochuveli-Bangalore Special will leave Kochuveli at 12.45 noon on December 22 to arrive at Bangalore at 4.45 a.m. the next day. The train will have stops at Kollam, Kayamkulam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam Junction, Aluva, Thrissur, Palakkad, Coimbatore Junction, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Tiruppatur, Kuppam, Bangarapet, Krishnarajapuram and Bangalore Cantonment. The train will have 2 AC 2Tier, 2 AC 3Tier, 12 Sleeper Class, 2 General Second Class and 2 Luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The 0657 Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central Special will leave Chennai Central at 9.45 p.m. on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays from December 22 to January 12 to arrive at Thiruvananthapuram Central at 4.30 p.m. the next day. The 0658 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Chennai Central Special will leave Thiruvananthapuram Central at 8 p.m. on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from December 23 to January 13 to arrive at Chennai Central at 12.30 noon the next day. The 0657 and 0658 trains will have one First AC cum-AC 2-Tier, 2 AC 2-Tier, 14 Sleeper class, 2 General Second Class and 2 Luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The 0659 Chennai Egmore-Thiruvananthapuram Central Special will leave Chennai Egmore at 3 p.m. on December 27, January 3 and 10 to arrive at Thiruvananthapuram Central at 7 a.m. the next day. In the return direction, the 0660 Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai Egmore Special will leave Thiruvananthapuram central at 10.30 a.m. on December 28, January 4 and 11 to reach Chennai Egmore at 4.15 a.m. the next day. Both the 0659 and 0660 trains will have one AC 2-Tier, 4 AC 3-Tier, 11 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class and 2 Luggage-cum-brake van coaches. According to the railways, the 0657, 0658, 0659 and 0660 trains will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palakkad, Ottapalam, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanasserry, Thiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikkara, Kayamkulam, Kollam and Vadakara. The 0658 and 0660 specials will stop at Perambur also. Reservation for the special trains have commenced on December 21, according to the railway release.
