Minister visits flood-hit areas

TIRUVARUR: Dairy Development Minister U. Mathivanan saw the flood-affected areas in Tiruvarur district on Saturday.

At Manankathankottam in Kottur panchayat union, the Korayar breached and flooded houses. Villages such as Palaiyur, Idichamalai, Perugavazhndan were affected by floods. The Minister visited the place and asked PWD engineers to plug the breach in the river. He also saw the damaged bridge on Muthupettai and Thiruthraipoondi road across the Korayar. MLAs Sivapunniyam and Ulaganathan accompanied the Minister.
