Thiruvananthapuram: A dare-devil escape act by actor Mohanlal under the guidance of magician Gopinath Muthukad will kick off ‘Vismayam 2008,’ an international magic fest in the capital on April 30, 2008.

Vismayam 2008, to be held in the city from May 1 to 4, is being organised jointly by the Magic Academy and the Department of Tourism and will showcase the talents and skills of magicians from across the world.

The international magic fest will be inaugurated formally by the stalwarts of the Indian magic scene, P. C. Sorkar Junior, K. Lal, Jadugar Anand and O.P. Sharma. Apart from magicians from across the country, Japanese magician Fukai Masahiro, Afro-American magician Kentick Macdonald, Spain’s Maria George Blaz, and a few others from the international scene are also taking part in the festival.

India’s ancient and traditional magic tricks, the modern acts from the Western world and street magic from India can be seen at Vismayam 2008.
