Rafiq, Suthesh shine in Jahir’s win

Dindigul: Impressive bowling performance by Mohamed Rafik (six for 28) and Suthesh (four for 25) helped St. Peters Cricket Club, Kodaikanal carve out a five-wicket victory over Jahir Cricket Club, Vedasandur in the Canara Bank-DDCA first division league here on Saturday.

The scores: Jahir CC 83 in 22.3 overs (M. Mohamed Rafik six for 28, Sutheesh four for 25) lost to St. Peters CC 88 for five in 18.2 overs.

Viji shines

Viji’s five for 24 helped Srivilliputhur Town Cricket Club chalk out an 81-run victory over VHNSN College in the Virudhunagar DCA first division league at Sivakasi recently.

The scores (First Division): Srivilliputher Town CC 203 in 34.4 overs (Paramasivam 53, Viji 40) bt VHNSN College 122 for nine in 35 overs (Viji five for 24); Tasmanian Tigers CC 213 for seven in 40 overs (Kumar 40, Siva 63 n.o.) bt Challenger Star CC 173 in 37.3 overs (Jegan 58).

Second Division: Galaxy CC 146 for nine in 30 overs (Padmanabhan five for 28) bt War Horses CC 125 in 29.5 overs (Chairmaraj four for 12); Majestic CC 98 in 21.3 overs lost to Bharath CC 99 for six in 22.3 overs (Mohan 41); Bharath CC 144 in 29.5 overs lost to Boys CC 146 for six in 23.3 overs (Kali 65 n.o.).

Third Division: Sunlight CC 108 in 25 overs (Vijay 49) lost to Shooters CC 109 for nine in 27 overs; Sattur Town CC 156 for eight in 30 overs (Harish 45) lost to Scorpio CC 157 for five in 28.4 overs; SRNM College, Sattur 157 in 25 overs (Pandiaraj 52, Raja Ganesh six for 48) bt Attackers CC 87 in 20.4 overs.

Coaching camps

Senthil posts win

M. Senthil of Pot Black Centre registered his second win defeating V.S.M.R. Janardhanan of Madurai Union Club 150-48, 150-63, 150-142 in the semifinal round robin league of the Madurai Union Club’s 125th year district-level billiards-ranking tournament at Madurai on Saturday.

Earlier on Friday night, S. Murugesan of Southern Railway beat VSMR. Janardhanan 78-150, 150-145, 150-127, 119-150, 150-123.
