Honour for Indian officials

MUMBAI: Nitin Kannamwar and Sheetal Iyer, Asia’s top international men’s tennis official and Asia’s first women’s silver badge referee respectively, have been made Gold Badge Referees by the International Tennis Federation (ITF), according to a press release from Bharat Oza, AITA Joint Secretary, on Saturday.

The two Indians, the first brother-sister pair to gain this distinction, received the intimation after the joint annual recertification meeting of members of ITF, ATP and WTA officiating committee.— Special Correspondent
