NEW DELHI: With Christmas and New Year round the corner and traffic on the Capital’s roads leading to the domestic terminals of Indira Gandhi International airport continuing to be in a mess, Delhi International Airport (Private) Limited has made some arrangements to handle the rush of passengers during the holiday season. “We request passengers to use public transport like taxis instead of their personal vehicles to avoid parking problem. Even though we have provided for a free parking lot near the domestic terminals for the additional rush, it is likely that there may be an excessive inflow of passengers and vehicles during the next few days. For arriving passengers, metered black-and-yellow cabs, radio taxis and luxury cars are available at the airport,” said a DIAL spokesperson on Saturday. DIAL has appointed customer care executives – some of whom are still undergoing training -- across all terminals to guide passengers towards their respective destinations and provide any other assistance or information that they may need. “The staff at the arrival terminal (1-C) will assist passengers in finding taxis and helping with their luggage, while those outside the departure terminals (I-A and I-B) will help travellers in alighting from their vehicles. At any given time there would be at least six to seven such persons outside a terminal,” the spokesperson claimed.
