YSR promises land for aviation varsity

AMBAVARAM (KADAPA DT.): Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Saturday assured allocation of 3,170.69 acres of land for an aviation university and commercial airport to be established by Bramhani Industries Ltd. at Ambavaram in Jammalamadugu constituency.
The aviation university comprises a pilot, an airhostess and offer security training courses, aircraft maintenance and repairs, besides having a commercial airport with a runway of 10,000 feet and hangars, BIL Chairman and Managing Director Gali Janardhana Reddy explained to the Chief Minister, when he visited Ambavaram and interacted with BIL officials on the progress of the mega steel plant.
When Dr. Reddy asked why BIL required over 3,000 acres for a commercial airport, Mr. Janardhana Reddy and BIL Joint Managing Director D.N. Rao, said some area would have to be left vacant as per stipulations. He directed BIL authorities to pay higher compensation than that paid by the government to the displaced under irrigation projects, to 165 families of the nearby Chitimitithanda village who would be affected by the airport and varsity.
He also wanted steps taken to provide employment to one member of the each displaced family, with priority to people of Jammalamadugu constituency. Mr. Janardhana Reddy assured employment to displaced families in that manner and Jammalamadugu MLA C. Adinarayana Reddy thanked him.
