25 teams to assess crop loss

CHITTOOR: Twenty-five teams manned by agriculture officers have been formed to assess the damage caused to crops in the past three days in view of the havoc created by rain. Mr.Ramachandram, joint director, Agriculture said groundnut and paddy crops were damaged to an extent 9,250 acres and 4,250 acres respectively in the district. Heavy damage to crops was recorded in Srikalahasti and Satyavedu constituencies. -Correspondent
